Requirements and markings for fastening devices
We would like to refer to regulation No. 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council,
which states that all construction products covered by a harmonised European Standard (hEN) or a
European Technical Assessment (ETA) must have a CE marking.
Janere has a wide selection of fastening devices with CE markings that meet the requirements
outlined in such standards. Products with CE markings have been tested before launching them on
the market and their quality has been guaranteed – this is further assured by the Declaration of
Performance issued by the manufacturer.
Before purchasing fastening devices, please make sure that the product you have chosen meets the
requirements set by the engineer. We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that not all
products are required to have the CE marking. This obligation is only valid for products that can be
used as described in hEN or ETA.
Today, harmonised product standards apply to the following fastening devices used in construction:
EN 14399 High-strength structural bolting assemblies for preloading.
EN 14566 Mechanical fasteners for gypsum plasterboard systems.
EN 14592 Timber structures. Dowel-type fasteners. Requirements.
EN 15048 Non-preloaded structural bolting assemblies.
